According to Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of the company, Murali Vullanganti, the firm plans to come up with about 500 rural delivery centers in the next ten years, which will employ about one lakh employees. He noted that the company has not started to generate profit, but they expect that profit will pour in within one year from now. Mr. Murali added that RuralShores has now widened its customer base to 24. The clients they serve belong to different industries such as BFSI, e-governance, telecom and retail.

The company has declared the launch of its entry into voice based support process at Chand centre, in Madhya Pradesh. This centre will serve a client from the telecom sector in India. RuralShores has recently celebrated its third anniversary, and the celebrations were attended by M. Veerapa Moily, Central Corporate affairs minister, Kris Gopalakrishnan, and Deepak Parekh, Chairman, HDFC.

Sudhakar Ram, an investor at RuralShores, dismissed any fear that clients have about rural BPO’s. He said that the company has offered services to 24 clients in the last three years and there is room for fear as it has proven its capability. He added that the employees in such BPO’s are serious about their job as they do not have many opportunities as those in the urban areas have. Mr. Sudhakar observed that rural BPO’s enjoys an advantage of knowledge retention which is as a result of low attrition rates, which is in the single digit range. The main reason for attrition is the relocation of women employees after their marriage. Rural BPO’s also have the advantage of low cost as the salary paid to employees is reasonable than what is paid to employees in the urban areas. There is savings in terms of transportation costs too.
